Our town Clifton Forge, grew up as a railroad town and is now the location of an arts and crafts center which displays the work of many local artisans.
Our interest in crafts, painting and woodworking are long term passions that we have practiced for many years. We ultimately decided to focus our creative energies to basket making . Its is very engaging and satisfying to take raw materials and turn them into a decorative and useful item such as a harvest basket.
All baskets are hand made. They are made to be heavy duty, sturdy baskets. Unlike some wooden baskets, our bottoms are made of solid wood instead of particle board; usually cedar, pine or poplar. The staves are pine and the handles are made of the same wood as the bases. The bases, weaves and handles are all made from renewable forest products. These baskets come natural without any stains, paint or other finish. This allows you to use as is or to finish with the stain or color of your choice. Most importantly, our baskets are custom designed and can be made to the size and shape that you require. You may want to change the dimensions or add a handle. If so , that is no problem at all. If you would like to create a totally new basket design tailored to your business or logo, this can be easily done for you!
